Rakib: Hello, How are you?

Shakib: I am fine. What about you?

Rakib: I am also fine.

Shakib: Do you know about the ethnic people in Bangladesh?

Rakib: Not so much. I just know that they hold a very important place in our culture.

Shakib: Right. I tried to learn about their food habits and lifestyle .



Rakib: Are their food habits different from ours?

Shakib: Not exactly. Many of their staple foods are rice. 

Rakib: What do they eat with rice?

Shakib: I read that Chakma and Garo people eat fish and vegetables with rice.

Rakib: Do they have any favourite food?

Shakib: Yes. Bash-corol is Chakms’s favourite food and Meoa is Garo’s favourite.

Rakib: I heard that Garo people like to make many types of pithas.

Shakib: Yes. There are many kinds of pithas such as Mera, Nakshi, Tel etc.

Rakib: Many varieties among their food habits.


Shakib: There are also many varieties in their lifestyle.

Rakib: Yes. I saw that some of them lived in Machanag.

Shakib: Not only their house but also their clothes are very interesting.

Rakib: I do not know about that. 

Shakib: Men wear lungis and women wear thamis and angis.

Rakib: Are they making their own clothes?

Shakib: Women make their own clothes but men don’t.

Rakib: Do you know about their pastime?

Shakib: Yes. Hunting and fishing are their favourite pastimes.

Rakib: Anything else?

Shakib: They also love singing, dancing, fair etc.

Rakib: What do you know about their sports?

Shakib: Wrestling is a popular sport for them. 

Rakib: Great to know about many things of ethnic people . Thank you.
